Strategic UX for decision makers and key influencers

User Experience, User Centred Design, Human Factors, Man-Machine-Interfaces,.... there have been plenty of terms for what still is the same activity: Making devices and services useful and usable for people. What has changed are the means to deliver an experience changing it from a nice to have add-on to an absolutely essential tool that business no longer can afford not to use and master.

In this intense and hands-on workshop, decision makers will learn how UX, if applied properly, is key to lowering development costs, increasing revenue and risk reduction. Participants will be introduced to the concept of experience thinking, learn what needs to be in place to reap the benefits of an ISO9241-210 based UX development approach as well as gain hands-on experience with some of the required techniques.

This workshop is for decision makers and key influencers who are either looking to discover what a more UX focussed approach to development could bring to your organisation or have taken some early steps and are wondering where to go next. Places are limited to 10 participants in total.

What You Will Learn

In this workshop, decision makers and influencers will acquire up-to-date knowledge and skills to:

  • Shorten the development cycle by implementing core principles from ISO 9241-210.
  • Define a roadmap for the introduction of 'Experience Thinking' into an organisation.
  • How an experience insight driven product/service roadmap can keep competitors 'at bay'.
  • Experience the most common UX techniques through hands-on taster sessions.

 

Several hands-on exercises will be used throughout the workshop.

User Experience Thinking

  • UX Research techniques, which ones, for what, when

  • How user and customer journey mapping leads to improved experiences

1 day, 9:30 – 17:00 full day session with a one-hour lunch break.

Is this workshop right for me?

If you are a senior manager who is interested to learn how UX can help you organisation become more competitive or have taken the first small steps and would like to learn how to accellerate the introduction of UX thinking into your organisation then this course is for you. No specific knowledge of UX is required but we do restrict access to the workshop to those with either decision makers themselves or are in a key position to influence core decision makers in their organisations. As such we reserve the right to not accept registrations if a participant does not fall into either category.


Cancellation Policy

We understand that the unexpected does happen sometimes. If you need to cancel your course then we will issue a full refund if you request a cancellation more than 4 weeks in advance of the start of your course(s). We provide a 50% refund for cancellations between 4 and 2 weeks before the start date of a course. No refunds when cancelling within 2 weeks of course start date. Instead of a refund we can also register you, at our discretion, for our courses at a later date, in which case no refunds will be given if the rescheduled course is cancelled. When paying by invoice, a credit note will issued for refunds. Clients will need to settle any amounts outstanding on accounts if in debit. Akendi will transfer any amounts outstanding within 30 days if a client's account is in credit after application of a credit note.

In the unlikely event that we do not attain a minimum class size of 4 participants we will need to cancel the course. If this happens then we will inform participants 5 or more business days in advance of the course and we will issue a full refund to all registered participants or re-book your course to a later date if preferred. Akendi is not responsible for any travel or other costs incurred as result of a cancellation.
