Tedde van Gelderen talks at DesignThinkers Toronto 2018

Oct 24, 2018 On October 24th, Akendi’s President Tedde van Gelderen participated in the “All about UX: A Panel Discussion” at the 2018 DesignThinkers conference in Toronto, Canada. During the panel, Tedde discussed his experience running our UX research and design firm and key aspects of working with clients. The panel included a list of high-caliber UX and design professionals: Kat Downs Mulder, Grace Hwang, Irene Pereyra and Leanne Paura. DesignThinkers is RGD’s (Association of Registered Graphic Designers) annual conference, which gathers 2,000 creative professionals each year.

Oct 2, 2018 Our Principle Experience Architect, Dan Iaboni, will be providing insights on how unconscious bias plays an undeniable role in how we research and design. This workshop – in collaboration with TribalScale – will be held at Metro Hall in Toronto on Tuesday, October 2nd from 6:30pm-9:30pm (but arrive early to register and network!). Other presenters include Jenny Wood and Andrea Barros from TribalScale. Hope to see you there!

May 8, 2018 Akendi would like to congratulate client Erica Wiebe for her second consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medal. The Stittsville Ontario native won the women’s 76-kilogram class gold medal at the recent games held in Gold Coast, Australia. Akendi recently developed a powerful logo that reflects Wiebe’s unique characteristics and voice, and is proud to have worked with this back-to-back Canadian champion!
